Jurlique Activating Water Essence and Calendula Redness Rescue Soothing Moisturizing Cream Review

If there is one thing my skin often lacks is hydration, it does not matter the season or my water intake, noticing those dry patches on my skin is never appealing. Therefore, finding products that gently soothe my skin and provide hydration feels like hitting the jackpot.
For the past few weeks, I have been trying Jurlique’s Activating Water Essence and the Calendula Redness Rescue Soothing Moisturizing Cream and I have been truly enjoying the experience as these products are an invitation to indulge in hydration which is something my skin needs all the time. These products are the first products that I get to try from Jurlique, and are the perfect introduction to such clean and high quality skincare brand.

The Activating Water Essence is a plant water-based infusion enriched with highly concentrated, organically grown marshmallow root extract developed to hydrate, eliminate dryness, dullness, uneven skin texture & uneven skin tone while improving the skin’s ability to retain moisture (yes please). Anyone can use it as it is intended for normal, oily, combination, dry, and sensitive skin, in other words, it is perfect for all skin types.

My Experience

I have been using the Activating Water Essence right after toning day and night or anytime I need a fresh burst of radiance (because who doesn’t?) and it truly helps my skin absorbs my serum and moisturizer effortless while keeping my skin hydrated, soft and revitalized. It is an instant pick me up as it feels so fresh and soothing upon application.

How to Use

As suggested by Jurlique, I start to apply it by pouring a few drops into the palms of my hands and then followed by gently pressing it over my face, neck and chest for a complete regime. I use it after applying my toner or (if I am not using a toner) before I apply my serum and moisturizer allowing a few minutes between application to give my skin enough time to fully absorb every product. In addition, I use it morning and night for better results.

This is an extra step on my skincare routine which really helps enhance the performance of my serum and moisturizer as my skin seems to absorb them effortless and quicker. The formula contains a light and fresh scent featuring notes of lavender, geranium, and Australian sandalwood which I adore as I am a huge fan of clean and natural skincare products. With continued use of this product I have noticed less dryness, an improved skin texture and overall clarity of my skin. I have experienced no breakouts nor irritation as this water is actually calming to the skin.

Calendula Redness Rescue Soothing Moisturizing Cream 

The Calendula Redness Rescue Soothing Moisturizing Cream is a gentle cream developed to calm and soothe sensitive skin prone to redness and irritation. This cream is all natural, non-greasy and aims to provides hydration and instant relief to irritated red skin which is a common skin concern for me since I suffer from mild rosacea.

My Experience

Jurlique’s Calendula Redness Rescue Soothing Moisturizing Cream

This cream has a thick consistency so I have been using it only at night and I love how it provides instant deep hydration and relief to my redness. While rosacea is a chronic skin condition which has no cure, using products to keep it calmed and to prevent future flare-ups is just what I needed. Even though this cream has a thick consistencty, my skin absorbs it very quickly without leaving any sticky or oily feeling after application. In addition, this cream has a luxurious light fresh scent that I truly enjoy.

How to Use

I start by taking a small amount as a little goes a long way due to the thick and rich consistency and I warm it up using my fingertips. Then, I gently apply to my face and neck by pressing it instead of rubbing it. After application, my face always feels hydrated, soothed, and calmed from redness.

Overall I adore both the Activating Water Essence and the Calendula Redness Rescue Soothing Moisturizing Cream and I am so happy to have added them to my skincare routine. I have seen a huge improvement on my skin’s hydration, the ability to retain moisture, overall clarity, and my redness due to rosacea seems to be more under control with less flare-ups and less visibility. These products are the perfect treats to sensitive skin in need of hydration and soothing.
